Welcome to a new year in French Immersion at Signal Hill Elementary. I look forward to working together to support and celebrate your child’s academic and personal growth this school year. The information below is a brief outline of important classroom information.
Agenda: All students are expected to use their agenda daily. It is your child’s responsibility to show you his/her agenda each night, and to follow through with what has been written. As well, it is up to your child to make sure that their teacher reads any notes that may have been written by you.
Tests: Students will write a vocabulary test every Friday. They are expected use their notebooks or Quizlet to study for the tests. These tests will come home in a duo-tang every Monday evening, must be signed by parents, and brought back to school.
Quizlet: Students have started becoming familiar with the Quizlet website. It is a great study tool for learning vocabulary words. Please encourage your child to use this tool at home to review our weekly vocabulary words. Students must log in using the usernames and passwords from class to find their study lists.
Seesaw: Seesaw is a way for students to exhibit their accomplishments. Please sign up as a parent with the invitation page in order to see what your child is accomplishing in the class classroom.
Indoor shoes: Your child is expected to change his/her shoes when entering the school. These shoes can be used for PE if they are running shoes.
Website: Study materials, French songs and other information about our class can be found at our class website at signalhillimmersion.weebly.com .
Personal devices: Personal devices are not permitted at school and must remain in the student’s school bag at all times. Personal devices will be confiscated and must be retrieved by a parent from the office. If you need to contact your child, please be aware that he/she will not be able to reply until after school. If there is an emergency, please contact the office.
Please feel free to contact me anytime with any concerns or questions you may have by email at [email protected]. Thank you for your support! Merci encore pour votre collaboration! Our class runs much more smoothly because of your involvement!
